Adding Spouse after receiving AOR
Hey Guys,
I have ongoing file with IRCC non express stream. I got my marriage certificate on Feb 2 , 2024. Feb 27 i got additional documents requeste regarding my wife.
1) Is it necessary to change my wife name in passport? Or she can keep her passport as is ( before marriage passport)?
2) will she be able to get PCC done from india as now she have to select marriage status as married ?
3) IRCC gave only 30 days , but in India it is slow it would take 2 months can how do i ask for extension and give them proof for it ?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Aishwarya Balaji: Parth Parmar It's not hard to fill these forms. It's basically, Schedule-A, Personal history, travel history and the generic application form. If you check your PR application, these forms were part of your initial PR application as well. It's basically doing the same process now for your spouse via paper, that's the only difference.

Aishwarya Balaji: Parth Parmar The same fees that you paid initially, your spouse will have the same ones.

Aishwarya Balaji: Parth Parmar You would require a separate account to pay. It won't let you use your account to pay. Just use her email id to pay the fees and upload the receipt with the rest of the docs.

Aishwarya Balaji: Christina George Depends on the visa office that's processing the application. Consider a 3 to 6 month delay to be on the safe side but it can be faster too.

Aishwarya Balaji: Christina George If you are already married before landing, spousal sponsorship is not the right way since you will have to declare your marriage. Otherwise that would be a misrepresentation and you will not be able to sposor your spouse in the future.. 3 to 6 months is a conservative processing time.

Aishwarya Balaji: Christina George Spousal sponsorship is not exactly faster either.. it is 1 year minimum and could take longer since it is not express entry.

Aishwarya Balaji: Christina George Like I said, for adding spouse to your current application, consider a max of 3 to 6 month additional time (currently the spouse additions have been faster). Spousal sponsorship is non EE and the minimum processing time is atleast 1 year.
Liana Thomas: Hello, may i ask, how much time did it take for the ircc to respond you for the additional docs, after you informed them about adding spouse? Cuz i am in a similar situation as you.
